Re: What is PTSD?

Posttraumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) is a condition that usually is a result of any Traumatic event where someone is harmed or believes that they can come to harm in a situation that they are in, or even a situation that they might witness. PTSD is a common condition of Veterans returning home from conflicts of war or violence, but it can affect any one.  If you are turning 65 in Kentucky or Ohio Make sure you get a good Medicare Supplement plan so that treatments are covered.

Re: What is PTSD?

PTSD is short for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  It is very common and is reported to be more than 3 million cases per year.  Symptoms may include nightmares or memories of trauma, heightened reactions, anxiety and depression.  Someone with PTSD can have agitation, irritability,  hostility or a self-destructive behavior and hopelessness.  But, PTSD can be treated with therapy and medications.
Anyone can get PTSD at any age.  War veterans, people who have suffered sexual assault, abuse, been in accidents and many other traumatic events.
