Re: Periodontis an illness

Periodontitis is a disease of the gum tissues, it causes the tissue around the teeth to loosen and create pockets where bacteria can grow.  Periodontitis is usually treated by a dentist.  Some Medicare Advantage Plans Like United Health Care, Aetna, and others have some dental coverage.  Dental is not covered by Original Medicare.

Re: Periodontis an illness

Periodontitis is a disease that causes gum infection which damages gums and can destroy the jawbone.  Symptoms include swollen, red and tender gums. It can be treated by cleaning the pockets around the teeth to prevent damage to the jawbone.  More advanced cases may require surgery.  If you are on Medicare, there are some plans that do include dental coverage.
