Re: Osteoporosis and women

Women over 50 are more likely to develop Osteoporosis then men mainly because women have smaller and thinner bones. Medicare covers this condition as long as it is diagnosed by a doctor. In Kentucky and Ohio there are Doctors that specializes in this condition.  If you are on a Medicare Advantage Plan make sure you check with your Primary Provider before you see a specialist.

Re: Osteoporosis and women

Osteoporosis is a disease that causes the bones to become weak.  It is much more common in women, especially older women.  Women usually have smaller, thinner bones than a man does and women's estrogen decreases when they reach menopause which can also cause bone loss.
