Re: What is Osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is a condition where there is wearing of the joint cartilage, and therefore wearing of the bones in the joints such as in the knees, hips, and fingers.  Osteoarthritis can be very painful and also causes the joints to become stiff.  Medicare covers this condition so make sure you have a good Medigap plan.

Re: What is Osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is a type of arthritis that happens when the flexible tissue at the ends of the bones wear down. Symptoms include pain, tenderness, stiffness and loss of flexibility in the joints.  Treatments include medications, physical therapy and oftentimes surgery such as joint replacement.  Medicare does cover such treatments and a Medigap plan.
