Re: What is obstructive sleep Apnea?

Obstructive sleep Apnea is the most common type of Sleep Apnea, it is when your throat muscles relax while sleeping and blocks the airway, this will cause someone suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea to snore while sleeping and causes a feeling of day time exhaustion.  Obstructive Sleep Apnea should be diagnosis by a doctor.
a doctor might recommend a pressure devise to be worn at night.  These devises are covered by Medicare and you should consult your Primary Care Doctor before seeing a specialist.

Re: What is obstructive sleep Apnea?

Obstructive Sleep Apnea is the intermittent airflow blockage that happens when one is asleep.  Symptoms include snoring and being really sleepy during the daytime. One can also have episodes of gasping for breath during sleep.  Treatments include weight loss, sleeping on one's side and not consuming alot of alcohol.  A face or nasal mask (CPAP) is often prescribed and Medicare does cover such devices.  Consult your physician if you experience any symptoms.
