Employed turning 65 Medicare

What should I do if I'm employed and receiving benefits from my job, but I'm turning 65?  Do I enroll in Medicare?

Re: Employed turning 65 Medicare

You don't have to enroll in Medicare if you are turning 65.  If you want to stay with your companies insurance you can.  The first thing you should do is contact the human resources department where you work.  Ask them if you can stay on the plan they have.  Then compare the cost etc to Medicare.  If you want Medicare sign up through social security.  If you dont want it, make sure you deny it.  If you are taking a social security check, you must deny the coverage.  This is very serious.

Call an agent and go over the benefits you have with the company and they will see if Medicare is a better option.
