Medicare and ALS coverage

Does Medicare fully cover Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis commonly known as ALS.  I heard Medicare supplement plans cover the symptoms of ALS more than the actual illness.

Re: Medicare and ALS coverage

Medicare will treat ALS a little different than other disabilities.  A person with ALS will automatically receive Medicare Parst A and B coverage the same month as their disability benefits start. A Medicare Supplement plan like the ones sold by Cigna, Aetna & AARP would help cover some of the health care cost.  Check with a licensed Insurance agent to make sure you have a good Prescription Drug Plan that will help with the medication cost associated with ALS.
