Medicare does cover cancer treatments but i have heard from clients that have Medicare and suffer from cancer that Medicare Part D the prescription drug plans cover chemotherapy.  It is imperative that you get a Medicare part D plan for this reason.

Medicare does normally covers chemotherapy if you are a cancer patient in a hospital, out patient clinic, or doctor's office.  However, if the chemotherapy is administered by an IV at your doctor's office Medicare Part B may cover the drugs.  If the drugs are IV administered in a hospital setting, Medicare Part A may cover it
